Monologic expertise is a term that refers to a discourse formed by someone who spends a great deal of time learning about a subject. Monologic expertise focuses more on special skill knowledge and qualification than dialogic expertise (which focuses on collaborative writing where what is contributed is more important than the qualifications of the contributor). Johanna Hartelius developed both monologic expertise and [] in her article " and the Emergence of Dialogic Expertise," found in the Southern Communication Journal. < Bakhtin, a Russian scholar who worked on literary theory, also touches on concepts such as monologic expertise.
