Money Reform Party

The Money Reform Party is a minor political party in the United Kingdom. They fought the Bromley and Chislehurst by-election, 2006, but came last out of 11 candidates with 33 votes. This consituency is home to many workers in the investment banks of the City and Canary Wharf, the majority of whom vote Conservative, hence the exceptionally low level of support.

The MRP wish to highlight the ways in which private banks operate in relation to the exchange of money, the profits of the banking sector, ending personal reliance on money and other personal financial policies. The sole aim and policy of the MRP is that money creation should be limited to a public agency, with new money being created as a public resource, introduced into the economy by means of paying for public capital projects in order to benefit the common weal.
