Mobile-review (often abbreviated as MR) is a professional website, dedicated to reviewing mobile devices. This includes mobile phones, PDAs, MP3 players and so on. The site was founded on 2 September 2002 by Eldar Murtazin.
This site has its own test lab and is known well enough for the device manufacturers to lend their prototypes of upcoming devices for tests. Considering this, data and tests published on this site are mostly exclusive and sometimes users can read full review with tests and photos of yet to be announced product. This site also contains useful news section and database for almost all ever released cellphones.
Localized Mobile-review original founded as a Russian website, whilst continuing to grow, seen interest by non native Russian speakers to read the content of mobile-review in English. Localized sections in English began to appear to satisfy the need of the non native Russian speakers, mostly consisting of articles translated from Russian, and so an international (English) version of mobile-review was born.
During the summer of 2007 a Dutch version was announced to be launched before the end of 2007.
Community Forum The forums of mobile-review (currently English and Russian) play a vital part of what mobile-review has to offer. The forum allows users to ask questions, get assistance and get up to date with the latest gossips. The forum is visited by both mobile professionals and the everyday users.
DDoS Attack On August 13, 2007 mobile-review has experienced a DDoS attack , which lasted about a week. Eldar Murtazin, the editor in chief, said he received an anonymous message saying the attack was a response to the negative Apple iPhone review by the site. Mobile-review announced an $10000 reward for information about it, but with no luck so far.
