History A Band Forms (2011) Missouri Coalition is a Red Dirt band formed in Joplin Missouri in late 2011. After the devastating Joplin tornado on May 22, 2011, Five high school buddies had a calling to bring some good hearted rock -n- roll to the community and share their talent and love for music and good times. Dustin Dickson has been a purveyor of fine beats for a number of years. Cutting his teeth on the likes of Alice Cooper, Metallica, Deep Purple, and the power ballads of REO Speedwagon. Early in 2009 Dustin Dickson invited Johnny B. to his garage for a jam. Johnny B. is known for his power vocals and intricate acoustic guitar style. Over the years, Missouri Coalition has had several members come and go before finally settling on their current line up. The band assumed various names during its metamorphosis such as Doublewide, Redemption Road, and Avalanche. the history of Missouri Coalition changed the day Wade Scott showed up in a Saturn station wagon and jammed with the boys. Wade left in his Saturn station wagon that day and the hopes and dreams of Missouri Coalition were in jeopardy. Fast forward to the May 22 tornado - While dump trucking in the cleanup effort Johnny B met with Wade Scott who was also helping in the relief effort. After a long talk at the volunteer center over an ice cold Coke, they decided Wade should definitely return as a permanent fixture in the band. Wade has all the traits of a true Coalition member. Strong roots to the Soutwest Missouri region, love for his community, and one mean axe player!! In late 2011 Johnny B. bought a new home with a large detached garage, which quickly became coalition headquarters. In a conversation with his new neighbor the man related he heard the jam and was impressed. The man said he loved rock and roll and oh, by the way “I play bass guitar”. The neighbor was invited over to jam and WOW, Jeff Parks was no doubt in the band. The band toiled on and singers came and went, Until Tim Weems showed up with Wade. Tim is the best in the business when it comes to vocals and he plays a mean guitar! This final addition solidified Missouri Coalition - An amalgamation of a Hard Rock rhythm section, blues influenced lead guitar, and a country boy singer all melding into the baddest boogiewoogie hard rocking Missouri brand of outlaw red dirt music.
