Ministerial Training School

The Ministerial Training School is an 8½ week intense bible based educational programme for single and of Jehovah's Witnesses. The school covers many areas including detailed bible study, public speaking skills, teaching, preaching and organisational arrangements.
Ministerial Training School is considered an extension of the Watchtower Bible School of Gilead. Compared to Gilead, MTS candidates are more easily qualified and housed because the latter's classes are held in a range of languages and in dozens of lands, and the course duration is shorter than that of Gilead. Between its establishment in 1987 and 2004, Ministerial Training School held 999 classes and educated 22,000 students.
Students of the school are generally assigned back to their home congregations but are often offered the opportunity to serve in a more needy congregation or area, as and when the need arises. Usually this is in their home country but can sometimes be abroad. They are sometimes used in the capacity of travelling overseers, assigned to help groups of congregations.
