Mimosa Train

Overview

The Mimosa Train refers to a tradition established in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island on or around November, 2007. Every Saturday, a local restaurant prepares a big breakfast consisting of eggs, hashbrowns, beans, and various forms of pork including ham, bacon, and sausage. At the completion of the breakfast, guests will sometimes embark on the Mimosa Train which involves the consumption of Mimosas over an extended period. While the Mimosa Train has sometimes consisted of a single individual (sometimes referred to as The Conductor' or 'The Acrobat), it often brings anywhere from 2 to 10 people together to experience the joy that are Mimosas.

While Mimosas are generally made with three parts champagne and two parts orange juice, mimosa train mimosas (MTM) are typically made with 5 parts champagne and one part orange juice. Although MTM typically come in a champagne flute, larger parties have sometimes found it necessary to utilize wine glasses.

In March of 2008, the Mimosa Train was derailed by a brutish ogre. There were no casualties. Its founders, shaken but never broken, vowed to repair the track and continue on their endless journey into the unknown.
