MillRace IT is a not-for-profit social firm who are owned by the charity Interact. For the last 10 years they have provided IT Recycling, Data Destruction and Asset management services. Most of their collections are free of charge and their social enterprise delivers projects to help young people with learning difficulties, those with mental health issues, and to help the elderly, bedridden and housebound. Commercial activity: Professional collection of redundant IT and Telecom equipment, desktops, servers, switches, printers, photocopiers, monitors and peripherals. Data destruction with certification through government approved drive wiping software, or through shredding Zero landfill and effective recycling back into the community. Anything that cannot be reused, they extract all recyclable parts and then smelt down the metals and plastics so none of the scrap goes to landfill. They abide by all WEEE and Environment agency guidelines. Social Enterprise (CSR): They also provide IT support in various guises to people with learning disabilities, mental health difficulties and the elderly. They also employ those that are employment disadvantaged and train them to return to the workplace.
