Carlos Mijail Lamas Alfaro (born February 22, 1979 in Culiacán, Sinaloa), is a contemporary Mexican poet.
Biography He studied Language and Hispanic Literature at the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa. He received a scholarship from the Fundación para las Letras Mexicanas from 2005 to 2006 and 2006 to 2007. He had also been granted by the Fondo Estatal para la Cultura y las Artes de Sinaloa.
Writings He had translated several Portuguese poems into spanish. His translations include works from Luís Vaz de Camões, José Régio, Cesário Verde, Mário de Sá-Carneiro, as well as some prose from Carlos Drummond de Andrade. Besides, he had published poems, translations and literary criticism in different magazines and cultural supplements from his country, such as Tierra Adentro, Nexos, Luvina, Literal, Este País, Textos, Crítica, Biblioteca de México, Los perros del alba, La gaceta del FCE, Pliego 16 and Laberinto.
