MIFA Allstars Ontario (or MIFA All Stars Canada) is a Women's American football team based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. They are the first and only full-contact Women's American football team based in Ontario. The team competes both within Canada representing the province of Ontario and internationally. The team was established September 2016 by a group of dedicated volunteers and the organization continues to be run by the players and volunteers in the community. The program's foundation is on the value of empowering women and giving women the confidence to participate in sport. The team participated in their first game in May 2017. MIFA Allstars Ontario has hosted a variety of events including the International bowl, provincial games and indoor tackle. They are led by Head Coach Liston Bates. International games MIFA Allstars Ontario has represented Ontario in Mexico annually since 2016. They have also partnered with various teams and organizations to foster the international partnership and relationship. MIFA Allstars Ontario hosted the first ever indoor tackle football game for women in all of Ontario called the Indoor International Bowl, against LeXfa Mexico in March of 2019. MIFA ALLSTARS Ontario participates annually in the International Bowl football games and conference hosted on the Labor Day weekend. The International Bowl brings together teams across different countries to participate in a series of games. Community involvement MIFA Allstars have used their platform to give back and support the local community by supporting various events throughout the year including, the Streetsville Santa Claus Parade, the Etobicoke Santa Claus Parade, the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl, Annual Christmas Food Drive MIFA Allstars also run a co-ed youth flag football program, for children ages 7 to 17. The program introduces youth to football and even has previous participants come back as coaches for the program. In 2019, the Toronto Argonauts teamed up with MIFA hold the first ever Women’s Football Showcase and hosted high school girls and women who are interested in playing football and growing the sport.
