Michele Megale (7 January 1930 - 16 June 2021) was an Italian politician. He was the mayor of Trapani between 1991 and 1994. Biography At a very young age he joined the Monarchist National Party. He became a municipal councilor in Trapani for this party in the 1950s. In 1957 he moved to the Italian Liberal Party, with which he also was a municipal councilor. In 1968 he joined the Christian Democrats. In December 1980, as a Christian Democrats councilor, he was indicted by judge , but was acquitted. After being several times municipal councilor, he was elected mayor of Trapani on 10 October 1991. In 1993 he received Pope John Paul II on a pastoral visit to the city. He remained mayor until June 1994. Megale was president of the , of the municipalized urban transport system and of the Giulio Pastore Study Center. He has published on contemporary Trapani history. Megale died on 16 June 2021, aged 91.<ref name=auto />
