Michael Wilbur

Michael John Wilbur (born March 13, 1989) is an award winning Independent Film maker and producer.
Career
Michael Wilbur began his film career upon his admission into the film program at Providence College. His prior film experience was little to none, but he was willing to learn. His first film, "Broken Radio" earned an honorable mention in the Rhode Island Film Festival (R.I.F.F.) as well as many other notions in film festivals across the nation. Following such sucess for a film at such a young age, Wilbur started his own small production company, Ecky Thump Productions, which produces many small independent films in the Southern New England area. He currently is in production of a new untitled film, to be filmed in the summer of 2009. He currently interns as a production assistant on the popular cable television show Ghost Hunters.
Personal life
Wilbur was born in Assonet, Massachusetts, the son of Debra Lawton and Robert Wilbur. He attended Bishop Stang High School in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts and currently attends Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island. He worked one summer of his high school career as a runner in the backstage of the Comcast Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts, where he in turn met may famous musicians including Eric Clapton and John Mayer.
One evening following a play at his school, Wilbur ran into John Ratzenberger whose daughter attends the same school. After conversing a bit about the nature of the comedy film, Ratzenberger gave Wilbur what he says is the best advice he's ever been given in, "Comedy isn't the lines, it comes from what's between them."
