Michael Palacio

Michael Palacio(born August 29, 1986 in Long Beach, New York) is a midfielder that plays for Red Bull New York of Major League Soccer.

While at Stony Brook Palacio was a three-time selection on the America East First Team and was named to the All-Northeast region second team in his junior season. In 2005 Palacio enjoyed his most productive offensive season as he led Stony Brook with 11 goals and seven assists. During his junior year, Palacio scored two goals and four assists and was named the America East Midfielder of the Year. In 2007 he scored four goals and six assists for the Seawolves as they earned a 9-7-3 record. During his senior year he also became the Stony Brook all-time leader in assists.

During his college years he also played with both Fort Wayne Fever and Long Island Rough Riders in the USL Premier Development League.

Following his senior season he was drafted by Red Bull New York with the 21st pick in the 2008 MLS Supplemental Draft.

In May 2008 he was placed on the season ending injury list following an injury to his left knee that occured in a reserves league match.
