Michael Hoffer

Michael John Hoffer (born March 28, 1957) is an American chess player, coach of several National and State Champions, international journalist, analyst, and undefeated correspondence champion. 1989 TCC North American Champion. Undefeated correspondence record with 61 wins & 9 draws. He won clear first place in all ten events in which he participated. His work has been published in: New In Chess Yearbook (Games and analysis), The Chess Connection (Chief columnist & games editor), Chess International, The Chess Correspondent, Florida Chess News. Chess Life 's Alex Dunne proclaimed Hoffer & Yasser Seirawan as the top two analysts/chess journalists in America. He received critical acclaim for his interview with former World Champion Boris Spassky. Article written in Chess Life Magazine about his winning the 1989 TCC North American Championship. Mr. Hoffer is the founder of Hoffer's Chess Academy, based in the Tampa Bay Area.
