Michael Biddle

Dr. Michael Biddle is the founder of MBA Polymers, a plastics recycling company that has developed patented technology for recycling plastics from large and complex waste streams. MBA’s recycling process recovers various types of plastics from waste streams all over the world and turns them into raw materials that replace new oil-based plastics. The technology that Biddle has pioneered is providing significant environmental benefits of sustainability by reducing the amount of plastics placed in landfill or incineration, and reducing the amount of waste plastics contaminating at-risk natural resources like oceans. Biddle began his career in 1978 at General Electric’s Appliance Park in Louisville, Kentucky, where he first learned about plastics. He then went to work for Cummins Engine Company as the corporate plastics engineer before deciding to pursue his Ph.D. After receiving his Ph.D, he accepted a position at Dow Chemical's research lab in Walnut Creek, California. Biddle advocates that society’s one-way use of plastics is unsustainable.<ref name="britishplastics" />
