"Mi General Augusto Pinochet" (lit: My General Augusto Pinochet) is a Chilean song written as an homage towards Augusto Pinochet Ugarte by the Chilean folklore composer Luis "Checho" González. History The composer, Luis González, wrote the song after the end of Pinochet's government. Its diffusion is mainly due to social media, where it reached popularity in the 2010s, being currently one of the most popular songs that represent Pinochetism. The original version has an introduction narrated by Rafael Martínez Barbieri. However, in most versions, it is omitted. |
