METROPLAN Town and Regional Planners

Metroplan Town and Regional Planners is a professional urban planning company from South Africa. The company was one of the first in post-apartheid South Africa to prepare strategic urban development frameworks aimed at restructuring the distorted spatial patterns inherited form the apartheid regime.
In 2011 Metroplan was appointed to prepare the planning guidelines for the development of the first African Aerotropolis, in Ekurhuleni, South Africa. The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality officially annaounced in September 2011 that it intends to transform the municipality into a functioning Aerotropolis. In the planning process, Metroplan is being consulted by Professor John D. Kasarda.
