Mercury is a financial service and technology company based in San Francisco, California. Mercury offers FDIC-insured checking and savings accounts to US-based businesses. Mercury announced a $6 million seed round from Andreessen Horowitz in August 2017 and a $20 million series A funding in September 2019 from investors including Cultural Leadership Fund, Clocktower Ventures, Liquid2 Ventures, 500 Fintech, and Melo7 Tech II. Previous investors include AngelList CEO Naval Ravikant, Gusto CEO Josh Reeves, Elad Gil, Atrium CEO Justin Kan, and Roger Smith. Mercury was founded by Immad Akhund, Max Tagher, and Jason Zhang, who previously worked together at Heyzap, a mobile ad company that was acquired by RNTSMedia for $45 million in 2016.
