Melowese Richardson is a former Cincinnati poll worker who came to prominence after she was prosecuted for voting illegally in elections in 2009, 2010, and 2012. She was eventually convicted on July 17. 2013 of illegal voting and sentenced to five years in state prison. A supporter of Barack Obama, she admitted that she had voted multiple times for him in her own name, and in the names of family members, including a sister who had been in a coma since 2003. She was released after serving eight months of her sixty-month sentence. She is often cited as an example of alleged widespread voter fraud in the United States.
