MeisterTask

MeisterTask is a cloud-based Kanban-style collaborative task-management application. It was launched in 2015 by MeisterLabs GmbH, a software company that developed the online mind mapping tool MindMeister. The company has headquarters in Vienna and operates offices in Munich and Seattle.
Development
MeisterTask was created by MeisterLabs, a German software company, founded by Michael Hollauf and Till Vollmer in 2006. The idea of the product was developed after the company received customer requests to improve the task management features in MindMeister. The solution was intended to help users shift from brainstorming to agile execution of their projects.
The software development lasted two years and cost nearly €1.5 million ($1.7 million) with no external funds engaged and most of the funding coming from MindMeister revenue.
A few months after its release in 2015, MeisterTask reached 100,000 users.
As of 2018, MeisterTask had over 2 million users.
Product
MeisterTask is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and track progress on customizable project boards in real-time.
MeisterTask utilizes Kanban boards, It adopts a freemium model, with a free basic version offering limited functionality and a paid version that provides additional features.
The program has integrations with other tools, including GitHub, Microsoft Teams, Zendesk, Google Drive, Slack, Dropbox, IFTTT, iCalendar, Harvest, and Zapier.
Among the software's customers are Virgin Hyperloop One, Nokia, BMW, SAP, Oracle, CNN, and Vodafone.
Reception
The software was listed among the "Best Apps 2015" by Google and iOS App Store, and among the best applications in its category by WIRED and Zapier.
In 2017, MeisterTask received the Best Apps for Teaching & Learning award by the American Library Association.
