Media Packs Co., Ltd, founded in 1978, is a manufacturer and supplier of optical disc packaging materials, located in Shantou, China. Media Packs is a major brand, claiming 70% market share in China and 30% world-wide. The company employs more than 3,000 people. Media Packs began as a plastic molding company. Audio and video cassette production began in 1981. In 1994 DVD recordable, CD-R, and keep case production was added. Blu-ray production was added in 2008. Since 2002 Media Packs has been collaborating with Amaray's China branch to research safer and more environmentally-friendly packaging materials. Media Packs became the 4th greatest WIPO patent seeker in the DVD/CD packaging industry in 2008. |
