Maury Shapka is a former fringe party politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as leader of the provincial Natural Law Party in Alberta from 1992 to 2002. Shapka helped found and became leader of the Alberta branch of the Natural Law Party of Canada in 1992. In the 1993 Alberta general election, the party placed forty-five candidates who earned 5,017 votes, 0.51% of all votes cast. Shapka himself earned 88 votes in the electoral district of Edmonton-Norwood. In the 1993 federal election, Shapka was the NLP's candidate in Edmonton—Strathcona; he finished in sixth place with 292 votes. Shapka stepped down as party leader and became president of the party in 2002.
