Matzav.com

Matzav.com proclaims itself "The online voice of Torah Jewry," a wording similar to competitor Hamodia's "The Newspaper of Torah Jewry".
Although Matzav.com is best known as a news aggregator, it also develops some articles that are directly cited by mainstream publications.
In 2008 Matav.com was described by Five Towns Jewish Times as "a new site based in Hewlett .. up and coming. Keep an eye on it."
The name Matzav means "situation" in Hebrew but a New York Times magazine article by an American reporting about his family's experience in Israel July 1998 thru September 11 called that definition, in December 2000, "the euphemism that the entire country uses to refer to the catastrophe in which we find ourselves."
