Matthew Morrisey

Matthew Morrisey (born May 14, 1987) is an Albertan politician currently running in the 2019 Alberta general election for the Airdrie-Cochrane riding. He is a member of the Freedom Conservative Party.
Early life and education
Morrisey graduated from SAIT and is a master electrician with S&S Bolton. He previously served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 2004 until 2006. He resides in Airdrie, Alberta with his wife Joelle and their five children.
Political career
His political involvement began in 2015 when he served as the Constituency Association President with the Wildrose Party in Calgary. After the Wildrose Party merged with the Progressive Conservatives to form the United Conservative Party he joined the Freedom Conservative Party led by Derek Fildebrandt. Morrisey was acclaimed as the Freedom Conservative candidate for the Airdrie-Cochrane riding on February 11, 2019.
Political Positions
Morrisey has stated that the need for a 24-hour healthcare facility in Cochrane is a key part of his platform.
