History
Matt joined his middle school band at North Marion Middle School in 2004. He started off playing the trombone and mastered it very quickly. By the end of his sixth grade year, he was playing at a high school level. due to his behavior problems and general goofing around, Matt was put in advanced band instead of jazz band his seventh grade year. He was always first chair, and he got kicked to last a couple times for his excessive "goofing around", but instantly challenged the new first chair player and took first chair again every time. Matt then knew he had a talent for music.
In 2005, Matt bought The Video games MTV Music Generator 3, and Xbox Music Mixer. He began making beats, and mixing tracks. All of his close friends noticed he had a great talent for making beats. His friend Damien Hall heard some of the beats, and liked them. Damien's father was a beat maker/producer and he told Matt that his dad uses a program called Fruity loops, or Fl studio. So matt tried to get a copy, but they never gave it to him. Luckily a friend that Matt sat with on the school bus had a dad that knew a producer. The boy went out of his way and got Matt a copy of fl studio 3.
Christmas of 2006, Matt got an hp Slimline desktop with an upgraded sound-card. He instantly installed fruity loops and began making beats Christmas day.
Shorty after, him and Brandon lewis formed the hip-hop group MB39's. They got the name by adding the first letters of there names. it was originally mb's, but that URL was taken on Myspace, so under suggestions, it said MB39's and they thought it sounded cool so they chose it.
They started Raping and recording. The quality was unimaginably ghetto because they used the voice recorder on a cheap digital camera. soon they upgraded to the $9.99 Wal-Mart Mic. They learned how to put the vocals on the beat instead of recording the vocals while the beat played. This was a huge turning point for them but wasn't used into they had a name change for the band.
in 2007, They changed their names to DEM DURDY BOYZ. Matt got the idea by hearing their friend Kevin constantly say " we did em durdy."
Shorty after, Kyle Cochran joined the group. Matt met kyle in his 9th grade science class at North Marion High School
the group went on for a while, making songs and promoting.
in 2008, Brandon lewis left the group to start his solo project because of a lack of communication between him and matt. He never got first verse, and was unhappy about that, but he never approached matt about the problem. Soon after, Kyle Cochran went solo also. so Matt was left alone.
Matt simply shortened the band name to Durdy Boy and went on.
Matt and Brandon Always stayed close in music and used the same exacted promotion methods together.
==="Durdy Boy" to "Matthew Edward Hall"===
in 2009, Matthew started to notice the immaturity and pervertedness in hip-hop music, and noticed it doesn't take that much skill to rap because at the time, everyone was claiming they were rappers. so Matt started to experiment with different sounds of singing. eventually Matt found his position and made a HUGE turn in musical direction.
As of now, you will never hear another pointless song about money, cars, clothes, and girls.
Matt only writes from the heart and his personal experiences and thats how he has such a huge connection with his fans.
