Matchpoint America is a Television and Radio Show based in Atlanta, Georgia that features current information and topics about professional and recreational tennis. The show features Bill Oakes, aka "The Tennis Commish", and Sam Crenshaw, a Sportscaster on the NBC Affiliate in Atlanta. The show has been on for over 10 years and is the brainchild of Jeff Batten who serves as the shows Director. The show can be seen between May and the US Open on The Tennis Channel (Nationally), Fox Sports South (Regionally), and WXIA NBC Channel 11 in Atlanta. Personnel Bill Oakes was a part of every AT&T Challenge, which for almost two decades was Atlanta's ATP Tour event. He also worked on the Legg Mason Tennis Classic, as well as ATP events in Scottsdale and Long Island. Bill is now the Director of Sales and Marketing for the USTA Southern Section, based in Atlanta. Bill was the first Tournament Director to award Andy Roddick an ATP Winner's Trophy at the 2001 Verizon Tennis Challenge in Atlanta. Sam Crenshaw, a Birmingham, AL native, joined 11Alive News in September 1998 and serves the station as sports anchor for 6 & 11 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday evening. He won the 2006 USTA award for media excellence.
