Mary Doherty is an Irish Christian Solidarity Party politician based in County Donegal in the Province of Ulster. She was one of only seven Christian Solidarity Party candidates at the 2007 Irish general election and received only 339 votes.
Personal life Mary was born in Buncrana, a large town on the scenic Inishowen Peninsula. She worked as a nurse in nearby Derry and continued her nursing career in London and Manchester. She spent 27 years in England before returning home again. She returned as she suffered from breast cancer. Her mother, Rose, died when Mary was only eight years old. While in England Mary was involved with pro-life groups. She holds a bachelor's degree in humanities with political philosophy from the Open University. She currently lives in Inishowen. She is not married but has nieces and nephews whom she is very concerned about. She is currently engaged to Dean Bonner.
