Mary Anna Dennard, (born February 15, 1954) is a college audition coach and author of I GOT IN! The Ultimate College Audition Guide For Acting And Musical Theatre]. She is also a special contributor to the New York Times ArtsBeat blog and The Choice where she answers readers questions about college performing arts programs. EDUCATION Dennard, who's maiden name was Mary Anna Austin, graduated from Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas in 1972 and attended Trinity University in San Antonio. She received a scholarship to studied acting at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco from 1975-1977 where her classmates included Harry Hamlin, Kim Zimmer, Gregory Itzin, Annette Benning and Anna Deavere Smith. She has worked as a professional actress in film, television and stage and as director of talent development at the Kim Dawson Agency. She resides in Los Angeles, California.
