Marty Stoltz born (Martin Eugene Stoltz), is an American video game Cinematic Director, Game Designer, Filmmaker, and Photographer best known for his cinematic work on Mortal Kombat, Stranglehold, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and the DC comics title Injustice 2. Career Studying Photography at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and Filmmaking at Pittsburgh Filmmakers, Stoltz began his career in the motion picture/multi-media industry working as a camera and editing assistant. In 1996 he joined the independent game developer DreamForge Intertainment as cut-scene director working on such titles as the award winning psychological horror adventure "Sanitarium". In 2002 he joined the Chicago video game developer Midway Games directing the cinematics for such games as the science fiction title "Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy" as well as "Mortal Kombat: Deception". His last full title for Midway was the Hong Kong style action game "John Woo Presents Stranglehold". In 2007 he started as cinematic director at LucasArts for the much anticipated game "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" which won the Screen Writers Guild best video game story award as well as the Interactive Achievement Awards Outstanding Achievement in Adapted Story for 2009. He worked at 38 Studios as cinematic director for EA's title "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning". After the games release he accepted a position as realization director with Ubisoft Entertainment at the Ubisoft Montreal Studio. In 2014 he moved back to Chicago accepting a position as Director of Cinematics with Warner Brothers Games working at Netherrealm Studios and directed the Cinematics Storymode for the DC title Injustice 2. Stoltz has also spoken on game design and cinematics at several GDC conferences and as an invited speaker at the Montreal International Game Summit, FMX in Germany, and GDC China in Shanghai.
