The Markstay-Warren Challenge the Champ Sled-Dog Race is an annual sled-dog race held in the Municipality of Markstay-Warren in Northern Ontario, Cananda. Held over two days with each race class having heats on both days. It is the largest race in Northern Ontario, attracting teams from around the world, and thousands of spectators. The classes Offering race events for 1, 2, and 3-dog Skijoring, as well as professional races for 4, 6 and 8-dog sleds with the unlimited class being the crown jewel of the weekend. The race Held over 12 miles of groomed trails, the routes taken are over a full loop. This allows for racers (mushers) to race without having to meet other teams head-on. The champ The champ referenced is the multi-time ISDRA World-Champion Sled-Dog racer Lou Serre. He not only helps with the setup of the race, but is an active racer. 2010 race event The 4th annual race will be held on January 2nd and 3rd, 2010.
