Mark McQueen

Mark McQueen is a British film and TV director born in Southport, UK in 1980.
TV
His first media job was as an assistant researcher at Granada Television in 1999 mainly working on the program "Reds@Five".
In 2003 he became a Director on motoring program "Fifth Gear" presented by Tiff Needell and Vicki Butler-Henderson then was promoted to Series Director in 2005.
He has worked on various other TV programs including "Guinness World Records Smashed" with Konnie Huq and Steve Jones.
Film
After making a film for the 48 hour film challenge he was asked to direct the 2nd unit on feature film "The Tournament" starring Robert Carlyle, Ving Rhames and Kelly Hu and spent 2 months in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Then on 30 November 2009 he started filming his debut feature film "Devil's Playground" starring Danny Dyer, Craig Fairbrass, MyAnna Buring, Craig Conway and Jaime Murray.
Early life
Mark attended Churchtown Primary School in Southport until the age of 10 before attending a boarding school called Pembroke House in Kenya. In 1993 he moved to another boarding school, Arnold School in Blackpool. Then when the boarding house closed down he moved to Kirkham Grammar School in Lancashire to undertake A-Levels. Then, having been rejected on a media course from all 6 universities he applied for went to Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education (now University of Gloucestershire) through clearing and studied Multi Media and Media Communications. Mark left after a year when offered a job at Granada Television whilst on 4 weeks work experience.
