Mark Lugo is an American screenwriter. He wrote the screenplay Sportsbook. Lugo is currently working on ethnic children's textbooks. Lugo has completed two documentaries on Latin American prostitution and life after deportation, the Steven Gonzalez story. Lugo continues to lend his marketing talents to international marketing companies throughout Latin America as a consultant. Lugo worked in Las Vegas alongside ESPN Deportes on the World Dominoes Tournament 2005. He is also developing two extreme sports shows. Lugo was born in the Bronx on January 13, and resided in New York City until 1990. In mid-1990, Lugo moved to Miami Beach, Florida, and studied at a Miami university. In August 1992, after Hurricane Andrew, Lugo moved to Palm Beach County, Florida. Lugo organized music concerts and special events in the South Florida area and Jacksonville area until 1998. In late 1998, Lugo co-founded an online urban apparel clothing company. He also owned and operated an advertising, web and design firm in Boca Raton, Florida. Mark Lugo has been developing an international restaurant business since 2005 in Central America. The business is a family-fun themed restaurant chain consisting of five restaurants throughout Panama City and Costa Rica. In addition to the entertainment themed restaurant, Lugo takes on other television and entertainment related projects from time to time. In June 2007, Lugo announced that he had begun working on producing a new entertainment variety show for the Central American market entitled Glamour TV. The first episode features appearances from Casper Martinez, April Lee Hernández, Luis Guzman and many other Latino Hollywood movies stars. Lugo signed on with mixed martial arts cage fighting promoter Titans of the Pentagon to produce the Titans' September 22, 2007 fight between and Mark "The Bear" Smith in San José, Costa Rica. In July 2008, Lugo produced El Gran Peleador, a Spanish-language reality TV show capturing the lives of 16 Latin American mixed martial arts fighters living and training in Central America and competing to win a cash prize. Following the January 12, 2010 Haiti earthquake, Lugo went to Haiti and took photographs that he plans to exhibit in the US and internationally to benefit the Haiti rebuilding process. Lugo currently resides in Costa Rica.
