Mark Hunstone

Mark Hunstone is a former Newcastle based songwriter, musician and producer. He now resides in Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory.

Originally from Newcastle, New South Wales, he was integral member of the soul, jazz, heavy folk and dirty funk band Spoon. Their self-titled CD Spoon (1995) was recorded at Charing Cross Studios in Sydney by Wayne Connelly (Aria Engineer of the Year Award). Spoon were reasonably influential on the Newcastle live music scene with bands such as Innocent Criminals (later to become Silverchair) often backing them.

Spoon relocated to Melbourne in 1999, however Hunstone broke with the band and moved to London where he worked for a number of years. In 2003 he moved to Canberra and later formed Revolver, a three piece original pop/rock band. In 2006 Revolver released their debut album In Absinthia with Hunstone contributing guitars and vocals as well as engineering and co producing the CD.
