Mark Baer

Mark B. Baer is a family law attorney, mediator and collaborative practitioner in Pasadena, California.
Baer has practiced law since 1991. He is the president of Mark B. Baer, Inc., a Professional Law Corporation, which handles family law matters throughout Southern California.
Baer is a regular contributor to the San Gabriel Valley Psychological Association's bimonthly newsletter, for which he has written articles on psychology and family law since September 2008.
Career
Baer received his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in 1990. He also studied international and comparative law at Cambridge University. He first worked in corporate law, estate planning and bankruptcy matters for California firm Buxbaum and Chakmak, and then he switched to McKinley & Capeloto, a bankruptcy and commercial litigation firm in Pasadena. In 1992, Baer moved to Frye & Alberts in Los Angeles.
Baer founded his own firm, as a sole practitioner, in September 1993 in Los Angeles, moving to Burbank and finally settling in Pasadena in 2008. While the company originally practiced estate planning, probate, corporate and bankruptcy law, Baer primarily focused on family law, especially divorce.
Baer incorporated his firm in June 2001. Today, its primary focus is family law.
In 2008, Baer received training in divorce mediation from Forrest Mosten and became an affiliate of the San Gabriel Valley Psychological Association, as well as an advocate of mediation and Collaborative Divorce.
Recognition and affiliations
The California Psychological Association presented the Outstanding Newsletter Award to the San Gabriel Valley Psychological Association on April 16, 2010. Baer's articles in the newsletter were cited specifically as a contributing factor to the award.
In addition to the San Gabriel Valley Psychological Association, Baer is also affiliated with the Beverly Hills, Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley bar associations.
