Marco Antonio Garza Mercado

Marco Antonio Garza Mercado (born December 17, 1975) is an entrepreneur and general director of GM Capital, a real estate development company. He is son of Rosalina Mercado Díaz and Eudelio Garza Lozano, an architect and main investor in Valle Oriente, a financial area in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León. He is married and has four daughters.
Biography
He studied architecture in the University of Monterrey (UDEM) and then began working with his father in Grupo Inmobiliario Monterrey (GIM), a real estate company. From 1994 to 2004, he was in charge of the administration and development of Plaza Fiesta San Agustín.
After that, from 2004 to 2009 he was general director of Invercity, another real estate company and afterwards promoted to assistant director of GIM until 2014.
After leaving GIM, he founded GM Capital with his siblings Valentina and Benjamín Garza Mercado.
He became the president of the Rufino and Olga Tamayo Patronage to preserve the Rufino Tamayo Park, located in the same financial area his father invested in, Valle Oriente.
Work
His first proyect was Magma Towers, an apartment complex that earned him a few prizes such as the Architzer A+ Awards and the Iconic Awards.
After the apartment complexes of Fuentes and Bosques Residencial were built, the planning for Distrito Armida began. It consists of various office and apartment buildings with commercial spaces and hotels.
Controversies
In 2014, a video involving him and his older brother Eudelio regarding legal problems went viral
