Marc Davenport

Ronald Marcus Davenport (born 1981) is an American actor and singer.

Marc Davenport is perhaps best known for his role as Josh Haskins in Big: the musical, as performed by Off Broadway Theatre in 2008. It is also rumored that Arnold Schwarzenegger saved his life. He is a former U.S. Army Soldier.

Biography
His Early Life
Marc Davenport was born to prominent union representatives in 1981 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Incident
Marc claims that while participating in a President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports sponsored run in the early 1990's, which was chaired by Arnold Schwarzenegger at the time, he experienced a hard, potentially fatal fall in the frenzy to get near Arnold Schwarzenegger. Just as Marc hit the ground, Schwarzenegger "swooped" over him, grabbing him by the arm, and lifting him back to his feet. "Be careful," were the only English words that came from Schwarzenegger's lips that day, albeit in a thick, almost incomprehensible Austrian accent.

Army career
Marc served in the U.S. Army from 2001 to 2007, serving one tour in Iraq under Operation Iraqi Freedom III.

Acting career
Shortly after leaving the Army, Marc began singing Kareoke regularly. His vocal range caught the ear of Chris Sancho, who immediately suggested that he begin singing and acting classes at Off Broadway Theatre, where he would soon star in such productions as Rumors and Big: the musical. An unfounded rumor surfaced in early 2008 that Marc sought to fill a Barak Obama impersonator position on a weekly late-night 90-minute American variety show based in New York City, known as Saturday Night Live.

Racial Peculiarity
Marc's race has baffled many people that he has come across. It posed to him a particularly difficult problem while serving in Iraq. He can speak Arabic, though not at a native level, which confused Iraqis who saw him as being an Arab. The situation was further aggravated when he moved to Arizona, where he is often viewed as someone of Hispanic decent. He claims that his mother is white and his father is African American in order to reap the benefits of both races in American society, but even he is confused and in the dark about his ethnic origin.
