Manhattan Middle School of the Arts and Academics is a middle school serving 6-8th grade students located in Boulder, CO. The school was formed in August of 2003.
Founding
Manhattan Middle School of the Arts and Academics (abrreviated MMSAA) spawned in August 2003 from the merger of two other middle schools in the Boulder Valley School District, Base Line Middle School, and Burbank Middle School.
School of the Arts
MMSAA is one of the only schools in the Boulder Valley School District to feature and extensive arts program that includes visual arts, musical arts, and theatre/dance arts. Students are offered to take these as an elective or a "focus" in which they get 2 periods devoted to the class they have chosen. Students are also enrolled in normal subjects as well (Language Arts, Social Sutdies, Math, and Science).
