Mango Languages is an online language learning software. It was lanuched as a beta version in August 31 2007, and went out of beta in February 2008. Even though Mango Languages claimes that the software is still free, there are several features as well as half of the lessons not available without purchasing the Premium Course Subscription. Lessons Each language is devided into 100 lessons. Each lesson consist of a conversation between two people. The service is interactive in such a way that any sentence, and most words may be reheared by clicking on them. There is also a transcription on how it pronounce the sounds written in english. With the free Discovery Course Subscription 50 of these are available. The Premium Course Subscription gives access to the rest, as well as other features such as grammar and cultural notes, making it easier to learn the language. Mango Languages are available in these languages for people who already know english: * Brazilian Portuguese * German * Mandarin Chinese * Spanish * Italian * Japanese * Greek * French * Russian There are also three courses in English for speakers of other languages: * Polish * Spanish * Brazilian Portuguese Drawbacks The application is only available as an online subcribtion. An alternative is called Mango on the go which is only the audio and transcribed lessions in PDF. The interactivity of the online service is not possible in this audio and paper version.
