Manchester City F.C. 8–0 Watford F.C.

The 2019-20 season match between Manchester City and Watford at City of Manchester Stadium, Manchester, took place on 21 September 2019. Champions City had lost the weekend before, 3-2 at newly promoted Norwich City. On a day which also marked 125 years since the club's first ever game, Manchester City scored 5 goals after eighteen minutes, a Premier League record. David Silva opened the scoring within 52 seconds with a simple tap in after an assist from Kevin de Bruyne, before Ben Foster's foul on City winger Riyad Mahrez let Sergio Agüero score a 7th minute penalty. Mahrez scored himself 5 minutes later with a deflected free kick. Bernardo Silva grabbed his first goal from a header in the 15th minute and Nicolás Otamendi, who made a costly mistake against Norwich City, scored a tap in assisted by Agüero in the 18th minute. There were no more goals for City until 3 minutes after half time, where Bernardo Silva scored his second which was confirmed by VAR. Silva completed his hat trick on the hour mark before Kevin de Bruyne scored with 5 minutes remaining to seal Manchester City's record win in the Premier League and Watford's record defeat.
