The Malibu Chili Cook-Off is a carnival held in Malibu, California organised by the Kiwanis Club Malibu. It has taken place every year on Labor Day weekend since 1985. Background The Chili Cook-Off, which is held at a site off the Pacific Coast Highway Malibu, CA, is attended by between 10,000 to 15,000 people each year. Celebrities such as Mischa Barton, Nicole Richie, Ray Romano, Al Pacino, Pamela Anderson, Kid Rock, and Dylan and Cole Sprouse have been spotted during these festivities. Events From Friday night to either Sunday or Monday, there are carnival rides, game booths, music, chili. Usually, Friday night is known “Malibu Night” because it is the time where Malibu residents tend to visit and meet their friends at the carnival; children enjoy spending time there visiting all the various stands erected. On the Saturday, the chili competition begins.
