Mahmud al-Rashid (born 1964) is a Bangladeshi-born British human rights barrister. Early life Al-Rashid was born in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). After he and his family immigrated to England, his father opened a restaurant. Al-Rashid has five sisters. Career Al-Rashid is a human rights committee member and spokesman of the Association of Muslim Lawyers (AML). He is deputy secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain. Personal life In 1992, Al-Rashid married Sarah Joseph after they were introduced by mutual friends.<ref name="bbc"/> He lives in London with his wife and their three children.
