On October 3, 2022, Mahan Air Flight 81, a regularly scheduled international passenger flight from Iran to China, operated by Mahan Air using an Airbus A340, faced a bomb threat which turned out to be a hoax/scare. Incident At 9:20 am Indian Standard Time, Delhi air traffic control was informed by Lahore air traffic control of a bomb threat on flight W581. The flight was around from Delhi at this time. A holding pattern was held for about 45 minutes during which the flight was refused permission to land at Delhi, and the pilots declined to land at two alternate airports. Four Indian Air Force fighter aircraft were scrambled during the incident. Tehran conveyed that the bomb was to be "disregarded".
