Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda

Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda (Swamiji) was born on August 15, 1945 in Rupawas, Rajasthan, India, and has been living in Vienna, Austria since 1972. He got his Swami initiation in 1967. By the World Religious Parliament he got 1994 the sign of honour Proud of India, 1996 the spiritual title of Dharma Chkravati and 1999 the title Sarvabhaum Jagadguru. In the year 1998 he was consecrated as Mahamandaleshwar of Panchayati Mahanirvani Akhara at the Maha Kumbha Mela in Haridwar, India. In 2001 the highest spiritual title Vishwaguru was given to him by the Kashi Vidvat Parishad (an assembly of professors and scholars of the Sanskrit University of Benares).

Spiritual lineage
His spiritual lineage derives from the Master of the Himalayas, Siddha Guru Sri Alakh Puriji, Paramyogeshwar Sri Devpuriji, Bhagwan Sri Deep Narayan Mahaprabhuji (1828 - 1963) and Dharmsamrat Paramhans Swami Madhavananda (1923 - 2003), the successor of Sri Mahaprabhuji and spiritual master of Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda. Teaching and work
Swami Maheshwarananda is the author of the master-system Yoga in Daily Life and founder of many Yoga in Daily Life Ashrams and centres worldwide. In the year 1975 he founded the Austrian-Indian Yoga-Vedanta Society and 1990 the International Sri Deep Madhavananda Ashram Fellowship. He also inspired the foundations of the Yoga in Daily Life Youth Union and the Ayurveda Academy of Yoga in Daily Life and 2007 he established the Sri Swami Madhavananda World Peace Council.

The Om Vishwa Deep Gurukul - Education and Research Center in Jadan, Pali district, Rajasthan, is his main Ashram. On the area of the ashram in Jadan exist also a primary and secondary school, a hospital, a Ayurveda hospital, an animal refuge and a water harvesting and reforesting project. The main building has the form of the symbol OM (Aum) and it is the largest made by humans on this world.

He has dedicated his whole life to helping humanity through Yoga and to evoking the ancient spiritual heritage of Sat Sanatana Dharma. Furthermore he is engaged in numerous social and humanitarian activities. He has established many charitable projects, and initiated global fundraising programs for the victims of natural disasters as well as worldwide prayers and meditations for world peace. Since 2002 every year a World Peace Summit is held in different countries and visited by honourable guest and thousands of participants from the whole world.
