Paramyogeshwar Sri Devpuriji

Paramyogeshwar Sri Devpuriji, the Guru of Sri Deep Narayan Mahaprabhuji, lived until 1942/1943 in his Ashram Kailash, Sikar district, Rajasthan, India, according to the book Sri Lila-Amrit (ISBN 3-85052-104-4), the biography of Sri Mahaprabhuji, written by Dharmsamrat Paramhans Swami Madhavananda. Sri Devpuriji received his initiation from Siddha Guru Sri Alakh Puriji. The ashram is named by the mountain Kailash in the Himalayas, the holy adobe of Lord Shiva according to Yoga philosophy.

History
The record of Sri Devpuriji’s life is only fragmentary. He was consecrated and acknowledged by his disciples as an incarnation of Lord Shiva. In his ashram he held numerous Satsangs (lectures of truth and wisdom), which attracted people from all over India. Some disciples reported that he was constantly followed by cows, goats, birds, dogs and snakes. They also claim that Sri Devpuriji had a habit of appearing suddenly and disappearing in a similarly unexpected way.

Teaching
His teaching and work is founded on Satsangs and Bhajans (chanted spiritual poems). The techniques of Raja Kriya Yoga and Yoga Nidra he passed on to Sri Deep Narayan Mahaprabhuji and it was taught to his disciples since 1880 and in the system Yoga in Daily Life.
