Maan are a clan of the Jat people found in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. They are considered to be the brethren of the Heer or Hayer and Bhullar gotras. They are considered as Asal Jatts.The Maan clan originates from the village of Saloudi in the Khanna district of Punjab. The clan holds much power in political and social matters in that region. There are many notable people who are members of the Maan clan, including the famous Punjabi singers: Gurdas Maan, Harbhajan Maan, Babbu Maan, and Sharry Maan. The popular comedian-turned-politician Bhagwant Maan is also a member of this powerful clan.
