M. A. Mohammed Jamal (19 January 1940- 21 December 2023) was an Indian politician and community leader and religious scholar and social worker and caretaker to thousands of orphans from Kerala, South India who was the Kerala State General secretary Indian Union Muslim League from 1983 to 1992. He also served as the general secretary of the Wayanad Muslim Orphanage since 1988. Personal life and education M. A. Mohammed Jamal was born in Manikuni in Sulthan Bathery on 1940, He studied in his native place and later on in in Kozhikode. M.A. started his public life as a member of the Indian Union Muslim League. Mohammed Jamal followed the demise of Abdurahman Bafaqi in 1987. Taking charge of Wayanad Orphanage. He had started working with the Wayanad Muslim Orphanage (WMO) since 1967, his life to the orphanage since 1967, Jamal transformed the lives of numerous orphans, His a significant providing religious and moral education to approximately 9000 students in Wayanad. Death Mohammed Jamal died of age-related disease at a private hospital in Kozhikode on December 21, 2023, at the age of 83. Award and honours Mohammed Jamal received a PhD from the University of Calicut in recognition of his philanthropic endeavours. *In 2006 Kerala Mappila Kala Academy's first Sharifa Fatima Award *In 2008 Indira Gandhi Sadbhavana Award for Best Education Worker *In 2011 KSTU's first Shihab Thangal Award for Best Social Worker * Quaid-E-Millath Foundation's Quaid-E-Millath Award.
