LU-CIX is the carrier - and data center - neutral internet exchange point (IX) located in (Luxembourg).
History
Luxembourg Commercial Internet eXchange, LU-CIX, was founded in February 2009 under the initiative on cross industry players:
Broadcasting Center Europe,Cegecom, , Datacenter Luxembourg, Global Media Systems,Fondation Restena, Inexio, LuxConnect, Post, root, SES Boadband Services...
These members keep running the technical backend requested for LU-CIX to provide its services portfolio.
LU-CIX gathers national and international telecom operators, data centers operators, ISP and online business operating companies.
Mission
LU-CIX has been created to support the development of the Internet industry in the heart of Europe and increase the attractiveness of Luxembourg as a ICT Hub in the middle of the so called "Golden Ring".
Its philosophy is based on a strong neutrality concept.
Infrastructure
LU-CIX is hosted in 8 data centers, PoPs, across the country to facilitate the membership of a majority of Internet related players.
It also leverages strong partnerships with other IX in Europe (ECIX & FranceIX).
