Lost At Sea Records is a Newcastle-based record label (UK), set up in January 2009 by Gram Bayne and Christa Macnaughton. The label specialises in finding the best unknown uk and European artists, providing them with media promotion and digital distribution. The long term aims of the label are to also release records in physical formats and provide artists with full tour support. The first release is due on February 14 2009 via itunes. The label is none genre specific, but usually leans towards post-rock, ambient, hardcore and post-hardcore. Artists Current artists * Kansasburns - a four-piece band based in Newcastle who tour extensively throughout the UK. Their debut EP has been received with an outstanding response resulting in interviews and airplay on XFM radio and Metro Radio as well as national magazine and fanzine reviews, Their music has been compared to the likes of: Thrice, This will destroy you, Mogwai, Million dead, Thursday, ‘The Very Best of early Placebo’, At The Drive-In Their forthcoming release 'Rip Out Your Heart' was recorded at BaseHQ Newcastle (2008) and mastered by the legendary mastering engineer Jon Astley (Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, The Who, Judas Priest etc).
