Los quesos

"Los Quesos" is an unsuccessful comic series created by ameture cartoonist Cristian G.. It is hand drawn and written by Cristian alone. Although it is a comic, it is often referenced as a television show as the animation, humor, and plot styles resemble that of television shows. In addition, its format is similar to storyboards rather than traditional comic formats. Episodes are supposed to be released weekly, but are very often delayed.
Origins
Cristian origionally concieved Los Quesos as soon as he drew the first final draft of Blue Cheese, the protagonist of the series. The first episode origionally "aired" on November 9th, 2007 and has since then been praised by students who attend Cristian's school. The pilot episode was actually a three-part episode, with a plot that could respectively be considered "weak" compared to more recent episodes. Despite this, many people liked the pilot enough to follow the series up to today.
Series Finale Announcement
On January 5th, 2009, Cristian had announced that the episode "Christmas '08", which was released the day before the school's holiday break, was to be the series finale of Los Quesos. All production was put to hault, which delayed approxamately 3 episodes that are now labeled as incomplete.
Return of Los Quesos
Soon after the announcement of the finale, another announcement was made stating that a new episode is currently under production. It will be the 20th episode, thus making it the season 2 finale. It is scheduled to be released on April17th, 2009.
Una Pelicula de Quesos
A length-extended episode of Los Quesos under the name Una Pelicula de Quesos (translated as “A Movie About Cheese”) is currently under production. The title is a reference to the 2006 Mexican animated film Una Pelicula de Huevos. It is similar to a typical episode, but will have a much larger story line and an exceedingly large number of pages compared to normal ones. It is expected to be from 20 to 40 pages long, as opposed to a normal 3 to 5 page episode. The “film” has been under production since the summer of 2008. It is expected to be released by the end of the 2008-2009 school year, but due to high expectations and attempted perfection, it may unfortunately not be released untill the end of the 2009-2010 school year.

Criticism of Los Quesos
Although Los Quesos is well acclaimed by its regular readers, the comic is occasionally criticized by people who are not familiar with the series. This is almost entirely due to the close resemblance that Blue Cheese (the main character of Los Quesos) has to Bloo from the Cartoon Network series Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Cristian has admitted to the similarities, but claims that he did not in any way plagiaize or had any intention of making Blue Cheese resemble Bloo.
Los Quesos in other media
Episodes of Los Quesos have been featured on Cristian G.'s myspace page. In addition, a combuter game based on the comic is under production. It is similar to a Choose Your Own Adventure book in which you must make the right decisions or you'll lose. No word on a release date so far.
