Lorraine Wearne

Lorraine Evelyn Wearne (born 17 December 1946), a lawyer, is an independent Australian politician from Parramatta, in the western suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales.
Political career
Wearne has served in the following offices:
*Independent local Councillor on the Parramatta City Council, since 1995
*Lord Mayor of Parramatta, between 2000 and 2001 and the first woman Lord Mayor of Parramatta; and again between 2011 and 2012
*Unsuccessfully contested the 2003 election for the New South Wales Legislative Assembly seat of Parramatta
*Won a seat in 2008 in the Lachlan Macquarie Ward for the Parramatta City Council under the eponymous independent party, Lorraine Wearne Independents
*Retained her seat in the Lachlan Macquarie Ward at the 2012 local government elections, and under the independent party, Lorraine Wearne Independents, supported the successful candidacy of Andrew Wilson, who won a seat in the Arthur Phillip Ward
