Loose Canon Playaz

Loose Canon Playaz is a hip hop group from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The group consists of emcees McFee (Jon McMurray), Eazy Mac (Mac Barett), D-khon (Daniel Campos), Hottnucks (Christopher St. Lewis), and St, Lewyy (Matthew St. Lewis). Currently based in Manchester, United Kingdom they are self described as “the next generation of hip hop.” The Loose Canon Playaz’ music has been primarily released independently via their own label Loose Canon Playaz Inc.
History
They broke into the music industry in 2002 through their involvement in Loose Canon Productions, a film production company created by Jon McMurray (McFee) and several others in 2002. Using his connections and sponsorships from the ski industry, McFee funded LCP’ first records and projects while continuing his pro ski career on the side. In 2003 McFee and D-khon moved to Las Vegas to promote their music as well as produce new material. During this time they spent several months in Los Angeles where they worked with music industry professionals Chris Brooke and Joe Wohlmuth, recording a library of new records.
Returning home to Calgary in 2005, McFee and D-khon expanded the group by joining with artists Eazy Mac, HottNucks, and St. Lewy. Equipped with a group of emcees and producers, LCP set to the streets performing in local nightclubs and events while also promoting their music on the Internet. They produced several EPs, mixtapes, and demo material including live show footage and music videos.
In August 2010 Loose Canon Playaz moved to Manchester, UK, on an extended promotional tour of their upcoming debut album entitled Should’a Worn A Rubber.
